About Me

Hello, my name is Brittany Rocco and I'm the person behind Blutmond GSD. I've had a passion for working dogs and dog sports for as long as I can remember. I grew up living next to a wonderful neighbor who competed in AKC Obedience and Agility with her well-bred Labrador Retrievers. She was the person who really helped to spark my desire to compete in performance sports and that also eventually led me into the world of AKC and UKC conformation.

I've been involved in the animal industry since 2016 when I started out working as a pet care associate at PetSmart. I worked there for almost 2 years before I swapped professions to be a veterinary technician. I loved not only helping animals but to help their owners as well. After being a veterinary technician for 5 years, I found myself constantly doing little training sessions with the patients while inside the exam rooms, especially during COVID, to keep them calm and happy during their visits. I was fortunate enough to have a lot of people, including the veterinarians, recognize this skill set of mine and pushed me to become a dog trainer. I started my journey in January of 2021 and I haven't looked back since. I'm now an AKC Certified Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Evaluator and I also help introduce pet owners to the world of dog sports.

My first GSD and foundation male, Phantom, is the one that started it all for me. He inspired my love for the breed and for conformation and performance sports. My journey with him began in 2017 and we started out with some bite sport foundations. Eventually, it grew to us competing in PSA, Fast CAT, CAT, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt/Happy Ratters, Disc, Scentwork/Nosework, Rally, Obedience, Agility, and Conformation. On top of all that he has accomplished with competing, he is also my multi-purpose service dog.

I'm very fortunate to own a GSD who is a true representation of the utilitarian breed and so many people have expressed how much they love the stable temperament and drive that Phantom has. I decided to help improve the breed by producing more dogs who are true representations of the breed like he is. I breed for versatility, workability, stability, temperament, structure, and health. I am an active member of the GSDCA, USCA, SV, and the Ocean State Agility Club, and I strive to produce dogs that showcase both form and function.
